DIY GLITTER SHOES

Hey dolls
Today i will treat you with two posts, and yes still on a DIY frenzy. Enjoy!!!!!
DIY Glitter Shoes
  1. Suede pumps
  2. Mod Podge
  3. Glitter
  4. Bowl
  5. Brushes – 1 big, 1 small
  6. White chalk
  7. Flexible curve – optional it helps with marking your design
DIY Glitter Shoes
Step 1
Decide where you want to put your design. I made some sketches to help me visualize.DIY Glitter Shoes
Step 2
Using your chalk and your flexible curve (optional) carefully mark your design.
Do this for both shoes. When you are marking your second shoe make sure all your designs match from one shoe to the other (unless of course you want them different).
You can also use tape to mark off your design but I find this to be a little messy, because the tape doesn’t always keep it from bleeding through and once your Glitter/Mod Podge mixture is dry it tends to be a bit rubbery as in, if you pull on it, it will peel. So, in my opinion it’s better to go slow and wing it.DIY Glitter Shoes
Step 3
Mix your Mod Podge and glitter in a small bowl. I always do this by an open window. The Mod Podge is a bit stinky.DIY Glitter Shoes
Step 4
Starting with your big brush paint your Glitter/Mod Podge mixture onto your first shoe. I recommend starting in the middle of your design and working toward your edges. You will use your small brush to carefully paint the edges of your design.
DIY Glitter ShoesWhen you are painting the edges you can easily push the mixture back with your nail if it gets out of line. You can also clean it off the shoes easily if you catch it quickly.DIY Glitter Shoes
Step 5
Place your shoes outside if you can or by an open window to dry, they will dry faster this way.
I also recommend you don’t throw out your Glitter/Mod Podge mixture yet. As your shoes dry check them for places where the shoe color is showing through and touch them up.DIY Glitter Shoes
Once your shoes are completely dry you’re ready to roll. I found the dried Glitter/Mod Podge to be pretty tough too. Of course you still want to treat them with care but enjoy, kick up your heels and add a splash of color to your life with a sparkle!DIY Glitter ShoesLove

DIY: BALLERINA FLATS

Hey Loves
Hope y'all are doing great. So here are more some DIY (do it yourself). My new addiction, i like it though, and thought i should share with you my lovies.
  • 1 Pair ballerina flat shoes
  • 1 Yard of 2” satin ribbon (always get a couple inches extra)
  • 2 Rhinestone buckles
  • Glue
  • Hot glue
  • Needle & thread
  • Scissors
Puritan Ballerina Flats DIY Supplies
Step 1
Measure across the toe box on your shoes, exactly where you will want your ribbon to go. Then cut 2 pieces of your ribbon to that length, with a little extra (just in case).
Step 2
Lay your cut pieces of ribbon out flat and set your buckle on top, measure where you will make your hole, “to buckle your shoes”. Once you’ve measured, pierce a hole in your ribbon with your scissors.
Step 3
“Buckle your shoes” by feeding your ribbon through your buckle.
Step 4
Glue your buckles to your shoes. Then you’ll need to let it dry for a few hours before continuing.
If you’re using hot glue, apply your hot glue directly to the top of your shoe where you will be placing your buckle and press your buckle into it. Hold it until it dries/cools.
Step 5
Once your glue is dry and your buckle is secure, pull your ribbon gently but firmly toward the sole of your shoe. Mark a line, on your ribbon, along the edge where the upper part of the shoe meets the sole. Cut your ribbon along the line where you marked it.Puritan Ballerina Flats How to DIY
Step 6
Using your hot glue, place a line of glue on your shoe along the edge where you want to glue your ribbon to your shoe.Puritan Ballerina Flats DIY Detail
Step 7
Take your remaining ribbon and cut it in half. Take one piece of your ribbon and your needle and thread, fold your edge over about a ¼ inch and stitch it down right along the edge. Then continue making small pleats until you feel your ruffle is wide enough for your shoe. When you get to the end trim your ribbon and fold it over the same as you did at the beginning about a ¼ inch and stitch it down.
Make 2.
Step 8
Attach your ruffles just inside your shoes with your hot glue, be careful not to put too much hot glue or it will squish out and add extra bulk you don’t want.Puritan Ballerina Flats DIY RuffleDIY Puritain Ballerina Flats
Try it out, i will too and post in the comment box thanks.

DIY SCARF BAG

Hey Loves,
check out this. This Scarf Bag DIY turns a fashion scarf into a hip bag that will add a splash of color to any outfit.
Scarf Bag DIY Feature

What you’ll need to make your Scarf Bag DIY:
  • 1 Large Scarf
  • 1 Yard of half inch cord
  • 1 Yard of plain fabric or a bag to cover
  • Pins
  • Scissors
  • Needle & thread
  • Sewing machine
Scarf Bag DIY Supplies
Step 1
Starting with your plain fabric measure 14 inches across and at least 14 inches long. I folded mine twice as you can see in the pictures, so my bag would be doubled with no raw edges sticking out. Pin your seams.
Step 2
Sew your side seams and your top seam, leaving about 3 inches open so you can turn your bag right side out.Cute Scarf Bag DIY
Step 3
Turn your bag right side out, fold it around so that one fits inside the other making your bag a double layer.
Once your bag is turned right side out, take your needle and thread and hand stitch the opening closed. How To Make A Scarf Bag
Step 4
Layout your scarf and decide what part you want to have as your focus on the bag. Since my scarf had stripes I had to decide if I wanted them horizontal or vertical. If your scarf has a solid background you wont have to worry about this.
Once you’ve decided how you want your scarf to look, cut it in half.
Step 5
Lay your 2 scarf pieces together with right sides facing. Lay your bag on top in the center to measure the opening you’ll need to leave. Pin your sides and using your sewing machine, sew your sides across from the bag opening to the edge of your scarf.
Step 6
Turn your scarf right side out and lay it flat on the table. Place your bag on top and measure around it marking with pins where you will be sewing. Mark all the way around your bag. Be sure to leave at least a half inch of scarf fabric at the top opening of your bag. (You will be folding this over inside the bag and stitching it down later.)Scarf Bag DIY Tutorial
Step 7
Using your sewing machine sew a seam all the way around your bag, this seam will be on the outside of your bag, you will not be turning it around.
Step 8
Slide your bag inside the pocket you just sewed.
Step 9
Fold the top edge over and pin it down. I folded mine over twice to avoid any raw edges.

Step 10
Using your needle and thread, stitch your scarf to your bag.Scarf Bag DIY How To
Step 11
Take your cord and place it on the inside corner of your bag, at least 1 inch down. Sew it tightly in place. Do the same for the other side.Scarf Bag DIY DetailScarf Bag DIY

SHIRT DRESS PERFECTION

Hey dolls,
A shirt dress is one of those items that can become a simple, effortless style statement and an easy option for creating style.Choosing the perfect shirt dress is all about choosing the right color and length.  Neutral colors are always a great color choice for your shirt dress.

Once you  choose your perfect color option, the next factor to consider is the length of your shirt dress. Length is one of those tricky style choices that can make or break your outfit. There are two important factors to consider when choosing length

.
First you need to consider your own height. Your shirt dress is the right length if it hits you just above the knee.
The next factor to consider when choosing your shirt dress is the fit of your shirt dress

. The button down version of my shirt dress is a more fitted option and must therefore be styled differently than the cotton option.

Once you choose your perfect shirt dress, the next trick is to figure out how to style it
.It is important to consider leggings with fitted options in order to account for how short the shirt dress becomes when in the seated position.
